How does marriage work in Egypt after you meet?
Once you have met and the families agree on the mahr and the shabka, the marriage is concluded by a ma'zoun and officially registered. Egyptian law requires both partners to complete the premarital medical examination before the contract is registered.
An undocumented urfi marriage leaves the wife and children without full protection in court, which is why we always encourage registration with a ma'zoun. Zawjni does not conclude marriages or issue documents; its role is to introduce you to someone serious.

Before you write your profile
Set your governorate and city in your profile. If you work in Saudi Arabia, the UAE or Kuwait, say so in your bio, and say whether you plan to return to Egypt or want a partner willing to live in the Gulf. Marital status (single, divorced, widowed) has its own profile field.
