What are the requirements to marry in Italy?
Civil marriage is concluded at the comune, and a foreigner needs a nulla osta, a declaration from their home authorities or consulate that nothing prevents the marriage. The banns are then posted at the comune for at least eight days before the ceremony.
If one partner is outside Italy, family reunification (ricongiungimento familiare) goes through a nulla osta request at the Sportello Unico per l'Immigrazione, with income and housing requirements. Zawjni does not give legal or immigration advice.
